Kenneth M. West II Joins SRMC as Assistant Administrator
September 4, 2009, Fredericksburg, VA Ken West has joined Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center as assistant administrator, rejoining the organization where he worked as an administrative resident from August 2008 through May of 2009. During that time, he helped to lead the process for the development of multiple tools and policies as well as hire many of the current hospital staff.
We are thrilled to have Ken back with us where weve had an office anxiously awaiting his return, said Tim Tobin, CEO of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. With Kens accomplishments and experience, he will no doubt bring amazing ideas and insight to our team.
Previously, West received his undergrad from Louisiana State University and went on to earn his masters of science degree in health systems administration from Georgetown University, where he was involved in multiple professional, social and civic organizations and received numerous honors and awards.
Following his work as a resident at SRMC, West completed his internship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, by serving as operations integration intern. He spent approximately three months at Johns Hopkins where he participated in a variety of hospital-wide initiatives involving project management and clinical and operational integration for the recently acquired Suburban Hospital into the Johns Hopkins Health System.
Transitioning from the role of administrative resident to now assistant
administrator has been easy for me because I had the chance to grow with the company, said West. Being here from the beginning and being able to help develop the culture and grow the staff has been amazing for me. The team has been phenomenal to work with. They are not only extremely competent but a true pleasure to work with as well, and it will only get better as we add more people to the team. Mr. West resides in Spotsylvania County and looks forward to bringing new healthcare services to the community.
